ARTEMETHER180 MG & LUMEFANTRINE 1080 MG TABLETS

Drug containsof artemether and lumefantrine is used to treatcertain kinds of malaria infections (a serious infection that is spread bymosquitoes in certain parts of the world and can cause death). 

Artemether and lumefantrine shouldnot be used to prevent malaria.

The other islumefantrine, a broad-spectrum antibiotic that stays in the body forabout seven days.

This is the mosteffective treatment for Plasmodium falciparum malaria, the more lethalform.

A Sleep Disorder.

Chills.

Decreased Appetite.

Dizziness.

Fever.

Generalized Weakness.

Headache.

Heart Throbbing OrPounding.

HOW TO USE: Take this medicinetwo times per day with milk or water. Take this medicine as advice by yourdoctor, Do not chew or crush this tablet. Be aware of contraindications.

PHARMACOKINETICS:
Absorption: Readily absorbed. Because peak plasma level may be delayedby 1 hour with a meal, administer drug on an empty stomach.

About 97% is bound to plasmaprotein. Drug doesn’t readily cross the blood-brain barrier.

Metabolism: Extensively metabolized to anactive metabolite (descarboethoxyloratadine), primarily by cytochrome P-450 3A4and, to a lesser extent, by cytochrome P-450 2D6.

Excretion: About 80% of dose is equallyexcreted via urine and feces. Mean elimination half-life is 8 1/4 hours. Drugisn’t eliminated by hemodialysis; it’s unknown whether drug is eliminated byperitoneal dialysis.

PRECAUTIONS:Contraindicated in patientshypersensitive to drug. Use cautiously in patients with hepatic impairment andin breast-feeding women.

STORAGE CONDITIONS: Store in cool and dry place, away from direct heat and light. Donot place in bathroom or kitchen. Keep away from the children and pet.
