RIFAMPICIN 150 MG, ISONIAZID75 MG & PYRAZINAMIDE TABLETS

This tabletcontains three medicines: Rifampicin, Isoniazide and pyrazinamide.

This tablet works by stopping the growth of bacteria.

This tablet kills the bacteria and eradicate theinfection.

This tablet is an antibiotic used to treat tuberculosis (TB).

Rifampicin works by inactivating a bacterial enzyme(RNA-polymerase) which is required by TB bacteria to make essential proteinsand to reproduce.

This tablet prevents these bacteria from forming theirown protective covering.

Red discoloration of your teeth, sweat, urine, saliva

Nausea, vomiting

HOW TO USE: take this medicine two times par day withmilk or water. Take this medicine as advice by your doctor.  Do not chew or crush these tablets. Aware ofcontra indication.

PHARMACOKINETICS

Absorption: Absorbedcompletely from the GI tract after oral administration. Food delays absorption.

Distribution: Distributedwidely into body tissues and fluids, including ascitic, pleural, seminal, andcerebrospinal fluids, tears, and saliva; and into liver, prostate, lungs, andbone. Drug crosses the placental barrier, and is 84% to 91% protein-bound.

Metabolism: Metabolizedextensively in the liver by deacetylation. It undergoes enterohepaticcirculation.

Excretion: Undergoesenterohepatic circulation, and drug and metabolite are excreted primarily inbile; drug, but not metabolite, is reabsorbed. From 6% to 30% of rifampin andmetabolite appear unchanged in urine in 24 hours; about 60% is excreted infeces. Some drug appears in breast milk. Plasma half-life in adults is 1 1/2 to5 hours; serum levels rise in obstructive jaundice. Dosage adjustment isn’tneeded for patients with renal failure. Rifampin isn’t removed by eitherhemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis.

Before using the medication tell yourdoctor if you are allergic to tablet. Tell your doctor if you have any problemlike skin problem, eczema etc. Do not take this medicine if you are havingstomach ulcer.
