TERAZOSIN 1 MG TABLETS

Terazosin helps to relieve symptoms ofHypertension and Benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Terazosin relaxingblood vessels.

Terazosin used totreat symptoms of benign prostatic hypertrophy.

Terazosin relaxes the muscles around the bladder exitand prostate, which makes it easier to urinate.

Terazosin is in a group of drugs calledalpha-adrenergic blockers.

Absorption: Rapidlyabsorbed after oral administration. About 90% of oral dose is bioavailable;ingestion of food doesn’t appear to alter bioavailability.

Distribution: About 90% to94% is plasma protein-bound.

Metabolism: Metabolizedin the liver. Pharmacokinetics of drug don’t appear to be affected byhypertension, heart failure, or age.

Excretion: About 40% isexcreted in urine and 60% in feces, mostly as metabolites. Up to 30% may beexcreted unchanged. Elimination half-life is about 12 hours.
