ATENOLOL 75 MGTABLETS

It's used totreat high blood pressure and irregular heartbeats (arrhythmia).

It can also beused to prevent chest pain caused by angina.

PHARMACOKINETICS:
Absorption: About 50% to 60% of an atenolol dose isabsorbed.

Distributedinto most tissues and fluids except the brain and CSF; about 5% to 15% isprotein-bound.

Metabolism: Metabolizedminimally.

Excretion: About 40% to50% of a given dose is excreted unchanged in urine; remainder is excreted as unchangeddrug and metabolites in feces.

PRECAUTIONS: Contraindicated in patients with sinus bradycardia, greater thanfirst-degree heart block, overt cardiac failure, or cardiogenic shock. Usecautiously in patients at risk for heart failure and in those withbronchospastic disease, diabetes, and hyperthyroidism.

STORAGECONDITIONS: Store incool and dry place, away from direct heat and light. Do not place in bathroomor kitchen. Keep away from the children and pet.
