LINEZOLID 10 MG DRYSYRUP

This syrup containsLenezolid as an active ingredient.

Linezolid is asynthetic antibiotic, the first of the oxazolidinone class.

Linezolid is anantibiotic used for the treatment of infections caused by Gram-positivebacteria that are resistant to other antibiotics.

It is used for thetreatment of infections caused by multi-resistant bacteria includingstreptococcus and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).

Low blood plateletcount.

Nausea.

Abdominal pain.

Loose stools.

HOW TO USE: Take this medication by mouthwith or without food, as directed by your doctor, usually every 4 hours. Forpowder packets, empty the entire contents of the packet onto the tongue andswallow. Drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication.

PHARMACOKINETICS:
Absorption: Absorption is rapid and complete afteroral dosing. Bioavailability is about 100%.

Linezolid is distributed readily into well-perfused tissues.Protein-binding is about 31%.

Metabolism: Linezolid undergoes oxidative metabolism to two inactivemetabolites. It doesn’t appear to be metabolized by the cytochrome P-450oxidative system.

Excretion: At steady state, about 30% of a dose appears in the urine aslinezolid and about 50% as metabolites. 

PRECAUTIONS: Contraindicatedin patients hypersensitive to drug. Use cautiously in patients receiving otherperipheral dilators and in those with aortic stenosis, heart failure, or severehepatic disease.

STORAGECONDITIONS: Store in cool and dry place,away from direct heat and light. Do not place in bathroom or kitchen. Keep awayfrom the children and pet.
