LOPERAMIDE HCL 2 MGTABLETS

Loperamide isused to treat diarrhea. Loperamide is also used to reduce the amountof stool.

It is often used forthis purpose in inflammatory bowel disease and short bowel syndrome.

It works bymaking the muscles in your intestines contract more slowly.

This in turnslows the movement of food and fluids through your digestivetract, which allows the bowel to absorb more fluids and nutrients.

It is not prescribedto people who blood in stool.
