BROMOCRIPTINE MESYLATE 2.5 MG TABLETS

Bromocriptinemesylatetablets are indicated in the treatment of acromegaly.

 Bromocriptinemesylate therapy,alone or as adjunctive therapy with pituitary irradiation or surgery, reducesserum growth hormone by 50% or more in approximately one-half of patientstreated, although not usually to normal levels.

Bromocriptine is used aloneor with other medications (such as levodopa) to treat Parkinson's disease.

 It can improve your ability to move and candecrease shakiness (tremor), stiffness, slowed movement, andunsteadiness. 

Common Side Effects

Slower heart rate.

Diarrhoea.

Weakness.

Tiredness.

Dizziness.

Anxiety.

HOW TO USE: Take this medicinetwo times per day with milk or water. Take this medicine as advice by yourdoctor, Do not chew or crush this tablet. Be aware of contraindications.

PHARMACOKINETICS:

Absorption: About 28% of dose is absorbed.

About 90% to 96%is bound to serum albumin.

Metabolism: First-passmetabolism occurs with more than 90% of the absorbed dose. Metabolized completelyin the liver, principally by hydrolysis, before excretion. The metabolitesaren’t active or toxic.

Excretion: Primarilyexcreted in bile. Only 2.5% to 5.5% of dose is excreted in urine. Almost all(85%) of dose is excreted in feces within 5 days.

PRECAUTIONS: Contraindicatedin patients hypersensitive to ACE inhibitors. Use cautiously in patients withrenal or hepatic impairment.

STORAGE CONDITIONS: Store in cool and dry place,away from direct heat and light. Do not place in bathroom or kitchen. Keep awayfrom the children and pet.
