ARIPIPRAZOLE5 MG TABLETS

Aripiprazole isused to treat certain mental/mood disorders (such as bipolar disorder,schizophrenia, Tourette's syndrome, and irritability associated with autisticdisorder).

It may also beused in combination with other medication to treatdepression. Aripiprazole is known as an antipsychotic drug (atypicaltype).

Absorption: Food doesn’t affect rate or extent of absorption. About 40%of dose is eliminated by first-pass metabolism.

Distributes extensively throughout the body, with a volume ofdistribution of about 1,000 L. Drug is 93% protein-bound, primarily to albuminand alpha₁-acid glycoprotein.

Metabolism: Metabolized by direct glucuronidation and cytochromeP-450-mediated oxidation.

Excretion: About 57% appears in urine and 30% in feces as metabolites. Only7% of dose is recovered in urine unchanged. Elimination half-life ranges from21 to 54 hours.

PRECAUTIONS: Contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to drug. Use cautiously inpatients receiving other peripheral dilators and in those with aortic stenosis,heart failure, or severe hepatic disease.

STORAGECONDITIONS: Store incool and dry place, away from direct heat and light. Do not place in bathroomor kitchen. Keep away from the children and pet.
