NIMODIPINE 30 MG TABLETS

This tablet containsNimodipine as active ingredient.

Nimodipine is acalcium channel blocker originally developed for the treatment of high bloodpressure.

It makes bodyresponds to bleeding by narrowing the blood vessel to slow blood flow.

Nimodipine isused to decrease problems due to a certain type of bleeding in the brain(subarachnoid hemorrhage-SAH).

Nimodipine is adihydropyridine that blocks calcium influx through the L-type calcium channels.

Absorption: Well absorbed after oral administration. However, because ofextensive first-pass metabolism, bioavailability is only about 3% to 30%.

Metabolism: Extensively metabolized in liver. Drug and metabolitesundergo enterohepatic recycling.

Excretion: Less than 1% excreted as parent drug. Elimination half-lifeis 1 to 9 hours.
