This suspensioncontains Rifampicin as active ingredient.

Rifampin is in aclass of medications called antimycobacterials.

Antibiotics suchas rifampin will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.

Rifampin is used withother medications to treat tuberculosis (TB; aserious infection that affects the lungs and sometimes other parts ofthe body).

HOW TO USE: Take thismedicine by mouth only. Never give more medicine than shown in the lable.It isimportant to shake the bottle for at least 10 seconds before use. Always use the spoon supplied with thepack.

PHARMACOKINETICS:
Absorption: About 70% is absorbed after oral tablet administration.Food delays rate of absorption but not extent.

Serum levels peak within 1 to 2hours after oral tablet dosing. Drug is 20% to 40% protein-bound; CSF levelsare only about 10% of plasma levels.

Metabolism: Metabolism is probably hepatic.Four metabolites have been identified.

Excretion: Excretion is primarily renal.Serum half-life is about 4 hours in adults with normal renal function.
