IMIDAPRIL10 MG TABLETS

Imidapril is anACE inhibitor used as an antihypertensive drug and for the treatment of chronicheart failure.

It reduces blood pressureby inhibiting angiotensin receptors  anddecreases chance of heart faliure.

Imidapril and itspharmacologically active metabolite, imidaprilat, are predominantly excretedvia the kidney.

Renal functionshould be evaluated before commencing therapy with imidapril in patientssuspected of renal impairment.

HOWTO USE: Take themedicine by mouth before taking the meals and at the bed time. Do not take overdose this may cause side effects. Take your doctor’s advice if you have anyconfusion about taking of dose.

PHARMACOKINETICS:
About 70% of the ingested imidapril is absorbedquickly from the gut; this percentage is reduced significantly when taken witha fatty meal. It reaches highest blood plasma concentrations after two hours and has a biologicalhalf-life of two hours. The substance isa  and is activated to imidaprilat, which reaches highestplasma concentrations after 7 hours, has an initial half-life of 7 to 9 hoursand a terminal half-life of more than 24 hours. About 40% of the drug isexcreted via the urine and 50% via the bile and faeces.

Precautions: Use cautiously in patients with impaired renal or hepatic function, GIdisorders, peptic ulcer disease, cardiac decompensation, hypertension, orcoagulation defects. Because chewable tablets contain aspartame, use cautiouslyin patients with phenylketonuria.STORAGECONDITIONS:Store in a room temperature away from direct heatand light.
