DESLORATADINE 5MGTABLETS

Desloratadine is anantihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms such as wateryeyes, runny nose, itching eyes/nose, sneezing, hives,and itching.

It works by blockinga certain natural substance (histamine) that your body makes duringan allergic reaction.

It is usedto relieve the symptoms of hay fever and hives of the skin.

Antihistamines workby preventing the effects of a substance called histamine, which is produced bythe body.

Loss of appetite,

HOW TO USE: Take medication once or twice a day by orallywith water. To avoid the chance of stomach pain or stomach upset takemedication with food. Take your doctor’s advice if you have any confusion.

PHARMACOKINETICS:

Serum levels peak in about 3 hours. Food doesn't affect themaximum concentration or the amount of drug absorbed over time.

Distribution: 82% to 87% bound to plasma proteins. Drug's active metabolite(3-hydroxydesloratadine) is 85% to 89% protein-bound.

Metabolism: Extensively metabolized in the liver to3-hydroxydesloradatine, which is also active.

Excretion: Mean elimination half-life is 27 hours. It's equallyeliminated in urine and feces, primarily as metabolites.

PRECAUTIONS: Contraindicatedin patients hypersensitive to drug and in those with severe bone marrowsuppression. Use cautiously in patients with impaired renal or hepaticfunction, leukopenia.

STORAGECONDITIONS: Store in cool and dry place,away from direct heat and light. Do not place in bathroom or kitchen. Keep awayfrom the children and pet.
