AMIODARONE100 MG TABLETS

Each tabletcontains 100 mg of amiodarone hydrochloride.

Treatment shouldbe initiated and normally monitored only under hospital or specialistsupervision.

 Oral amiodarone is indicated only for thetreatment of severe rhythm disorders not responding to other therapies or whenother treatment cannot be used.

Tachyarrhythmiasassociated with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome.

HOWTO USE: Take this medicine two times per day with milk or water. Take thismedicine as advice by your doctor, Do not chew or crush this tablet. Be awareof contraindications.

PHARMACOKINETICS:
Absorption: Slow, variable absorption. Bioavailabilityis about 22% to 86%. Onset of action may be delayed from 2 to 3 days to 2 to 3months-even with loading doses.

Distributedwidely because it accumulates in adipose tissue and in organs with markedperfusion, such as the lungs, liver, and spleen. It is also highlyprotein-bound (96%). The therapeutic serum level isn’t well defined but mayrange from 1 to 2.5 mcg/ml.

Metabolism: Metabolizedextensively in the liver to a pharmacologically active metabolite, desethylamiodarone.

Excretion: Mainexcretory route is hepatic through the biliary tree (with enterohepaticrecirculation).

PRECAUTIONS: Before using the medication tell yourdoctor if you are allergic to tablet. Tell your doctor if you have any problem.Do not take this medicine if you are having stomach ulcers.
