MEFENAMIC ACID 500 MGTABLETS

This tablet containsMefenamic acid as active ingredient.

Mefenamic acid is amember of the anthranilic acid derivative.

It belogs to class ofnonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID).

It is used totreatmild o moderate pain and pain during menstrual period.

It is not widely usedin the United States due to its side effects and high cost compared to otherNSAIDs.

Excretion: Excreted in urine. Average elimination half-life ranges from1 to 4 hours. In acute overdose, prolongation of elimination half-life iscorrelated with toxic effects. Half-life longer than 4 hours is linked tohepatic necrosis; longer than 12 hours is linked to coma.

PRECAUTIONS: If you are taking the rapidly dissolvingtablets keep your hand dry before taking medicine out of packet. Place tabletin mouth wait for it to dissolve and the swallow it with saliva.
