INDAPAMIDE 2.5MG TABLETS

Indapamide is a thiazide-likediuretic drug generally used in the treatment of hypertensionand  decompensated heart failure.

Indapamide isalso used to reduce extra fluid in the body (edema) caused by heartfailure.

Lowering high bloodpressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems.

Diuretics aresometimes called "water pills/tablets" because they make you peemore. 

Indapamide isused to treat high blood pressure (hypertension).

Common SideEffects

Headache.

Dizziness.

Fatigue, weakness, orloss of energy.

Muscle cramps orspasms.

Increased urination(during the first few weeks of treatment).

Absorption: Absorbed completely from the GI tract.

Distributed widely into body tissues because of itslipophilicity; drug is 71% to 79% plasma protein-bound.

Metabolism: Indapamide undergoes significant hepatic metabolism.Half-life is about 14 hours.

Excretion: About 60% of drug dose is excreted in urine within 48 hours;about 16% to 23% is excreted in feces.

Precautions: Contraindicatedin patients with anuria or hypersensitivity to other sulfonamide-derived drugs.Use cautiously in patients with severe impaired renal or hepatic function andprogressive hepatic disease.STORAGECONDITIONS:Storein a room temperature away from direct heat and light.

Keep away from childrenand pets. Do not put medication in bathroom or any humid place.
