OMEPRAZOLE 20 MG CAPSULES

This medicine containsOmeprazole as active ingredient.

Omeprazole is a proton pumpinhibitor that decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach.

Omeprazole is used to treatsymptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and otherconditions caused by excess stomach acid. 

This drug is also used to treatstomach infections caused by the bacteria Helicobacter pylori.

Omeprazole may help your stomachsymptoms related to acid, but you could still have serious stomach problems.

HOW TO USE: Take this medicinetwo times per day with milk or water. Take this medicine as advice by yourdoctor, Do not chew or crush this tablet. Be aware of contraindications.

PHARMACOKINETICS:
Absorption: Absorption is variable with oraladministration; bioavailability is 50% to 60%.

70% to 76% protein-bound.

Metabolism: Extensively metabolized by hydroxylation on the indole ring,followed by glucuronide or sulfate conjugation.

Excretion: 5% recovered in urine as parent compound. Half-life in adultsis 3 1/2 to 6 hours.
