CARVEDILOL 25 MGTABLETS

Carvedilol isused to treat  high blood pressure and heart failure.

It is alsoused after a heart attack to improve the chance of survival ifyour heart is not pumping well.

Lowering highblood pressure  helps prevent strokes, heart attacks,and kidney problems.

This drug works byblocking the action of certain natural substances in your body, suchas epinephrine, on the heart and blood vessels.

This effect lowersyour  heart rate,  blood pressure, and strain on your heart.

PHARMACOKINETICS:

Absorption: Rapidly and extensively metabolized afteroral use, with absolute bioavailability of 25% to 35% because of significantfirst-pass metabolism.

Plasma levels are proportional to oral dose. Absorption isslowed by food, as evidenced by a delay in reaching peak plasma levels.

Metabolism: Extensively metabolized, primarily by aromatic ring oxidationand glucuronidation.

Excretion: Metabolites are mainly excreted via bile into the feces. Lessthan 2% of dose is excreted unchanged in urine.

PRECAUTIONS: Usecautiously in patients with impaired renal function, renal artery stenosis, orserious autoimmune diseases (especially lupus erythematosus) and in thosetaking drugs that affect WBC counts or immune response.

STORAGECONDITIONS: Store in cool and dry place,away from direct heat and light. Do not place in bathroom or kitchen. Keep awayfrom the children and pet.
