FAMOTIDINE 20 MG TABLETS

Famotidine belongsto a class of drugs known as H2 blockers.

Famotidine is amedication that decreases stomach acid production. 

It is usedto prevent and treat heartburn and other symptoms caused by too much acidin the stomach (acid indigestion).

It is used to treatpeptic ulcer disease, gastro esophageal reflux disease, and Zollinger-Ellisonsyndrome.

HOW TO USE: Take the medicine by mouth 30 min beforetaking the meals and at the bed time. Do not take over dose this may cause sideeffects. Take your doctor’s advice if you have any confusion about taking ofdose.

PHARMACOKINETICS:

Converted to the hydrochloride salt before absorption.Absorption is erratic; it’s decreased by raised gastric pH and may be increasedin extent and consistency by food.

Distribution: Distributed into bile, saliva, cerumen, synovial fluid, andsebum; CSF penetration is erratic and considered minimal.

Metabolism: Converted into several inactive metabolites in the liver.

Excretion: More than 50% of a dose is excreted in feces within 4 days.
