NORFLOXACIN 100 MG TABLETS

This tablet containsNorfloxacin as active ingredient.

Norfloxacin is anantibiotic that belongs to the class of fluoroquinolone antibiotics.

This medicationbelongs to a class of drugs known as quinolone antibiotics.

It is used to treatvariety of bacterial infections.

 It works bystopping the growth of bacteria. 

It is used to treaturinary tract infections, gynecological infections, inflammation of theprostate gland, gonorrhea and bladder infection.

HOW TO USE: Take the medicine by mouth before taking themeals and at the bed time. Do not take over dose this may cause side effects. Takeyour doctor’s advice if you have any confusion about taking of dose.

PHARMACOKINETICS:
Absorption: About 30% to 40% of dose is absorbed fromthe GI tract; as dose increases, percentage of absorbed drug decreases. Foodmay reduce absorption.

Distributed into renal tissue, liver, gallbladder, prostaticfluid, testicles, seminal fluid, bile, and sputum. From 10% to 15% binds toplasma proteins.

Metabolism: Unknown.

Excretion: Most of systemically absorbed drug is excreted by thekidneys, with about 30% appearing in feces. In patients with normal renalfunction, plasma half-life is 3 to 4 hours; up to 8 hours in severe renalimpairment.
