ERYTHROMYCIN ESTOLATE250 MG TABLETS

Erythromycin is used totreat a wide variety of bacterial infections.

It may alsobe used to prevent certain bacterial infections.

Tablet is anantibiotic used to treat various types of infections.

It is effective inmost infections of the respiratory tract, ear, nose, throat, lungs, and skin.

Erythromycin isknown as a macrolide antibiotic. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.

PHARMACOKINETICS:

Because base salt is acid-sensitive, it must be buffered orhave enteric coating to prevent destruction by gastric acids.

Excretion: Excreted mainly unchanged in bile. Only small drug amounts(less than 5%) are excreted in urine.

PRECAUTIONS: Contraindicatedin patients hypersensitive to drug and in those with a history of angioedemarelated to previous treatment with an ACE inhibitor. Use cautiously in patientswith impaired renal function. Avoid use in patients at high risk forcardiogenic shock.
