NORFLOXACIN 400 MG &METRONIDAZOLE 500 MGTABLETS

This tablet containsNorfloxacin and Metronidazole as active ingredient.

Norfloxacin is anantibiotic that belongs to the class of fluoroquinolone antibiotics.

This medicationbelongs to a class of drugs known as quinolone antibiotics.

Metronidazole is adrug used against protozoan infections.

It works by stoppingthe growth of certain bacteria and parasites.

This antibiotic treatsonly certain bacterial and parasitic infections.

PHARMACOKINETICS:
Absorption: About 30% to 40% of dose is absorbed fromthe GI tract; as dose increases, percentage of absorbed drug decreases. Foodmay reduce absorption.

Distributed into renal tissue, liver, gallbladder, prostaticfluid, testicles, seminal fluid, bile, and sputum. From 10% to 15% binds toplasma proteins.

Metabolism: Unknown.

Excretion: Most of systemically absorbed drug is excreted by thekidneys, with about 30% appearing in feces. In patients with normal renalfunction, plasma half-life is 3 to 4 hours; up to 8 hours in severe renalimpairment.
