METFORMIN HCL 500 MGTABLETS

This tablet containsMetformin as active ingredient.

Glyburide belongs toa class of drugs called sulfonylureas, and metformin is in a class of drugscalled biguanides. 

Metformin is thefirst-line medication for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, particularly inpeople who are overweight.

On average, Metformin peaks at 2-3 hoursand Metformin HCL at4-8 hours.

However, bothmedications have the same effect.

Stomach pain.

Nausea or vomiting.

Bloating.

Diarrhoea.

Constipation.

Metabolism: Not metabolized.

Excretion: 90% is excreted in urine. Elimination half-life in plasma isabout 6 1/4 hours and 17 1/2 hours in blood.
