ALFUZOSINHCL 5 MG TABLETS

Alfuzosin relieves the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. 

Alfuzosin is an alpha-blocker.

It works by relaxing the muscle around the bladder exit and prostategland so as to allow easy passage of urine Alfuzosin may also be used forpurposes not listed in this medication guide.

It is usually taken with food twice a day.

PHARMACOKINETICS:
Alfuzosin has a serum half-life of five hours after oral administration. Alfuzosin has a linear pharmacokinetic profile over thedosing range of 1 to 5 mg,with no change in half-life despite an increase in the dose. The volume ofdistribution of alfuzosin is 2.5 L/kg, and 90% of each dose isprotein bound.
