CHLORTHALIDONE 100MG TABLETS

Chlorthalidone isused to treat high blood pressure (hypertension).

Lowering highblood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems.

 It is also used to reduce extra salt and waterin the body caused by conditions such as heart failure, liver disease, andkidney disease.

Chlorthalidone isa diuretic (water pill). It reduces the amount of water inthe body by increasing the flow of urine, which helps to lower bloodpressure.

Distribution: 90% bound to erythrocytes.

Metabolism: Limiteddata.

Excretion: Between 30%and 60% of a dose is excreted unchanged in urine; half-life is 54 hours.Duration of action is 24 to 72 hours.

PRECAUTIONS: Contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to drug and in those withretinal or visual field changes or porphyria. Use cautiously in patients withhepatic disease, alcoholism, or in conjunction with hepatotoxic drugs.

Store incool and dry place, away from direct heat and light. Do not place in bathroomor kitchen. Keep away from the children and pet.
