CALCIUM 250 MG &VITAMIN D3 125 IU TABLETS

Thiscombination medication is used to prevent or treatlow blood calcium levels in people who do not getenough calcium from their diets.

It may be used totreat conditions caused by low calcium levels such as boneloss (osteoporosis), weak bones (osteomalacia/rickets), decreased activityof the parathyroid gland (hyperparathyroidism), and a certain muscle disease.

It may also be usedin certain patients to make sure they are getting enough calcium (includingwomen who are pregnant, nursing, or postmenopausal.

Absorption: Absorbed readily from the small intestine.

Excretion: Bile (feces) isthe primary excretion route. A small percentage appears in urine.

PRECAUTIONS: Contraindicatedin patients with hypercalcemia, hypervitaminosis A, or renal osteodystrophywith hyperphosphatemia. Use extremely cautiously, if at all, in patients withimpaired renal function, heart disease, renal stones, or arteriosclerosis.
