LEVOFLOXACIN &ORNIDAZOLE 60ML SYRUP

This syrup containsLevofloxacin and Ornidazoleas as an active ingredient.

Levofloxacin isused to treat a variety of bacterial infections.

It works by stoppingthe growth of bacteria.

This antibiotictreats only bacterial infections.

Ornidazole isan antibiotic used to treat protozoan infections.

Ornidazole is used totreat people who have certain types of vaginal, urinary tract and intestinalinfections.

Common SideEffects

Constipation.

Diarrhoea.

Dryness in themouth. 

Nausea.

Slight metallic tastein the mouth.

HOW TO USE: Take this medication by mouthwith or without food, as directed by your doctor, usually every 4 hours. Forpowder packets, empty the entire contents of the packet onto the tongue andswallow. Drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication.

PHARMACOKINETICS:
Absorption: The plasma level after I.V. administrationis comparable to that observed for equivalent oral doses (on a mg/mg basis).

Mean volume of distribution ranges from 89 to 112 L aftersingle and multiple 500-mg doses, indicating widespread distribution into bodytissues.

Metabolism: Undergoes limited metabolism. The only identified metabolitesare the desmethyl and N-oxide metabolites, which have little relevantpharmacologic activity.

Excretion: Primarily excreted unchanged in the urine. Mean terminalhalf-life is about 6 to 8 hours.

PRECAUTIONS: Contraindicatedin patients hypersensitive to drug. Use cautiously in patients receiving otherperipheral dilators and in those with aortic stenosis, heart failure, or severehepatic disease.

STORAGE CONDITIONS: Store in cool and dry place, away fromdirect heat and light. Do not place in bathroom or kitchen. Keep away from thechildren and pet.
