CANDESARTANCILEXETIL 16 MG TABLETS

Candesartan is used to treat high bloodpressure (hypertension).

 Lowering high bloodpressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks,and kidney problems.

Candesartan belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin receptorblockers (ARBs).

 It works byrelaxing blood  vessels so blood can flow more easily.

This  medication  is also used to treat  heart failure.

This medication is not recommended for use in children younger than 1year due to increased risk of side effects.

Metabolism:  Undergoes minorhepatic metabolism.

Excretion: Primarilyrecovered in the urine and feces. Elimination half-life is about 9 hours.

PRECAUTIONS: Contraindicated in patients with hypercalcemia, hypervitaminosis A, orrenal osteodystrophy with hyperphosphatemia. Use extremely cautiously, if atall, in patients with impaired renal function, heart disease, renal stones, orarteriosclerosis.
